A defect found on handover day holds the keys. Walk the apartment a day or two before, while there is still time to fix it.
How to walk room by room
- Walls, floor, ceiling, doors, and windows
- Water, power, and anything still open after the finish
- A photo for each defect with the room name
- Who fixes it, and by when
A phone list with no location is hard for the crew. “Crack” is not enough. “Crack above the door in the right bedroom” is.
Close it before the client arrives
After the fix, photograph the same spot again. On handover day only what is still open stays on the list, with a date.
A list with photos avoids the “it was already like that” argument and shows the client you saw it first.
