Hours written at the end of the week almost always miss someone. The worker was there, the contractor was there, and on pay day there is no clear number.

What to write before you lock up

• Worker or contractor name
• Start and finish, or total hours
• Which project they were on
• If they left early, and why

You do not need a long report. One line per person is enough, as long as it is written the same day on the right project.

Why it matters for payment

When hours sit next to the daily log, you can check a contractor bill against what actually happened on site. Without that, you pay from a message or from memory.

Clear hours avoid a pay argument and show the client how many work days really happened.
